Most areas of research or work use their own set of words and phrases and gives specific technical meaning to terms that in everyday speech may mean something less specific or something else entirely. The area of partial evaluation and program transformation is no different, which may make it hard for the uninitiated to grasp some parts of technical papers or discussions. This list of words and terms is intended as a help to people new in the subject area, but may also be of help to experienced researchers, as different research groups tend to develop different terminology.
