The paper describes the time delay network synthesis using a special approximation of network pulse response. One starts by choosing the pulse response as a delayed semi-period of an n-th power of sinusoid. The Laplace transform of this pulse is a transcendental function. The real and imaginary parts of this function may be expanded into infinite products. Then, approximating these expansions by finite amount of terms one can obtain the network transfer function realizable by a reactance network loaded with a resistor. Design examples for differently delayed sine-squared pulse response are given.
