Abstract

Solid modellers used in CAD-CAM applications are becoming more and more complex: they require sophisticated programming techniques capable of generating reliable objects, copies of which may be defined in different and coexistent representation schemes. Models of these objects are also used to support the new paradigm of modelling by features. As a consequence, it is necessary to have at one's disposal formal tools to evaluate correctness of graphic objects and programs. To this purpose denotational semantics provides a way to evaluate the correctness of graphic objects, separately in their different aspects, according to the proper modelling scheme.
