Abstract

Adaptive Image Processing: A Computational Intelligence Perspective explores the application of neural network techniques, fuzzy set theory, and evolutionary computation to the various problems encountered in the design and parameterization of adaptive image processing systems. The authors illustrate the essential aspects of these problems in terms of two applications that represent the general adaptive image processing paradigm: adaptive image restoration and the adaptive characterization of edges in feature detection applications.
