Inevitably, faults are introduced whilst software is being developed. If we can catch the faults before the system goes live we can improve the quality of the system and reduce the cost of maintaining the system. In this paper we have calculated software metrics from the testing and maintenance phases of the development of a software system. We are going to analyse this data and suggest some improvements that can be made to the software process to reduce the number of faults that are getting into the maintenance phase.
