The ability to select suitable diagnostic assumptions and models extendsthe power of model-based diagnosis for complex systems and can explicitly bemodeled by diagnostic strategies. We discuss a framework that allows one toexpress these strategies as formulas of a meta-language and present a methodfor designing strategy knowledge bases as well as an efficientstraightforward operational semantics for exploiting them.
