Abstract

Numerous studies have confirmed the skewnessof Halstead's Software Science Length Estimator (Beser, 1983;Gonzales, 1990). The Length estimator consistently underestimatesthe size of `small' programs (program size 4000 tokens). This paper verifies and correctsthe Halstead Length Estimator skewness for a large collectionof `C' programs of varying sizes.
