Abstract

A modal logic for translating a sequence of English sentencesto a sequence of logical forms is presented, characterized by Kripkemodels with points formed from input/output sequences, and valuationsdetermined by entailment relations. Previous approaches based (to onedegree or another) on Quantified Dynamic Logic are embeddable within it.Applications to presupposition and ambiguity are described, and decisionprocedures and axiomatizations supplied.
