Abstract

Interfaces between software modules, processesand programs remain a serious problem for the softwareindustry. The Internet makes it even more important tosolve these problems and mobile computing makes robust design of interfaces critical. Thisdescription of research on improving CORBA interfacesthrough OMSOFT attracted me to one reasonable solutionto the problem. It uses the classic divide and conquer approach to separate interface concerns fromapplication ones. It promises to let developers avoidthe problems of undesired interactions between softwareartifacts in a well-structured way. Network and systems management applications need suchapproaches as so much of their work isinterfacing.
