Abstract

Current approaches to modeling the structure and semanticsof video recordings restrict its reuse. This is because theseapproaches are either too rigidly structured or too generallystructured and so do not represent the structural and semanticregularities of classes of video recordings. This paper proposes aframework which tackles the problem of reuse by supporting thedefinition of a wide range of models of video recordings andsupporting reuse between them. Examples of the framework's use arepresented and examined with respect to different kinds of reuse ofvideo, current research, and the development of a toolset to supportthe framework.
