Mediascape provides a Web-based media space--an audio, video, and computing environment that supports distributed groups. Using Web standards and protocols it supports creating a software infrastructure that incorporates three important design principles: integrability, flexibility, and privacy. The Videoserver component handles digital video communication. This Web-based environment offers benefits to users and developers greater than traditional media spaces.
