Abstract

Based on presentations at the IEEE Computer Society Workshop on Computational Science & Engineering, Oct. 1996, Purdue University. The World Wide Web can be used both well and badly as an educational tool. When used well, it is especially suited to teaching computational science. When used badly, it can fracture a body of knowledge into incoherent pieces. A growing body of good teaching materials for CSE are available, on the Web and otherwise.
