The IVA system can serve as a data-driven "visualization agent" for simulation environments. Using event expressions defined in a significant-event language, it extracts data of interest from very large data sets, and can modify the simulation based on detected events. A knowledge-based data mapping process helps create the most useful type of visualization to intelligently display the retrieved data.
