Abstract

Quantum computers will be useful for all kinds of computing. In addition to computer graphics they will have applications in cryptography, biology, and communications. We start with a look at the general principles of quantum mechanics as they apply to quantum computing. In the next issue, I present some of the mathematics behind actually creating quantum algorithms
