Tree-based reliability modeling integrates the benefits of software reliability growth models and input domain reliability models, offering a framework to assess software reliability and guidance to improve it. To test TBRM, the authors studied five large systems developed using similar processes. Implementation involves close collaboration between quality analysts and the test and development teams in defining measurements, gathering data, building the models, and performing remedial actions. The authors found this integrated approach both feasible and effective.
