Abstract

Data availability and security are two important issues in a distributed database system. Existing schemes achieve high availability at the expense of higher storage cost and data security at the expense of higher processing cost. We develop an integrated methodology that combines the features of some existing schemes dealing with data fragmentation, data encoding, partial replication, and quorum consensus concepts to achieve storage efficient, highly available, and secure distributed database systems.
