Abstract

MESSIDOR is an interactive retrieval system. It differs from current systems in that it allows the simultaneous search of several bibliographic databases. The databases may be on different sites such as ESA in Frascati, TELESYSTEMES in Sophia Antipolis... The databases may use different query languages such as QUEST, MISTRAL... However a user converses with the system MESSIDOR with a single language, the MESSIDOR language. The system's prototype is implemented on a MICRAL 80--30 micro-computer.
