Abstract

This paper deals with center of area (or gravity) defuzzification method via a computationally attractive method, called transformation function method. It is shown that the proposed method enormously reduces number of mathematical operations and amount of memory space required to compute defuzzified value. Moreover, the computational superiority of transformation function method over the conventional numerical technique is also shown.
