First results on the parallelism achieved by both automated and manually controlled opedW3 programming are reported for 2D and 3D magnetohydrodynamic computations. The simulations exploit adaptive mesh refinement, capable of capturing flow features like shocks and other sharp discontinuities accurately and efficiently. Implement at ion details are discussed, alongside with their scaling properties on realistic plasma flow simulations.
