End users need practical, abstract tools to specify and control multi-component applications using the heterogeneous, distributed resources of metacomputing platforms. We present an abstract component based programming model for the Amica metacomputing infrastructure implemented with Java and CORBA. In this model multi-component applications can be simply built using control and data flow component composition mechanisms. We concentrate on the new streaming extension of Amica. The basic streaming model is introduced along with its concrete implementation. An example illustrates its use.
