The paper presents the main features of CoLaborator, a Romanian multi-user collaborative environment for education and research in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC). Its main goals are: to offer wide access to an important research infrastructure (a HPC server) usually very expensive, by the integration of this infrastructure into a collaborative environment and by its efficient shared use; to provide additional services, such as the support for documentation and training in HPC, consultancy, and high qualified specialised services; and to support concurrent learning and research activities by using collaborative techniques. It is a good vehicle for students to learn from the experience of other researchers.
