Abstract

The parallelization of the finite element method (FEM) is considered. The parallel versions of the FEM package are developed on the base of the sequential version. The elasto-plastic behaviour of the geotechnical structure can be modeled, calculated and analyzed by the package. The Cray Fortran compiler directives are used for the parallelization of source code. The supercomputer SUN E10000 HPC is used for package test. As the engineering example of the geotechnical problem the dam building is modeled, calculated and analyzed. The different versions of parallel FEM package are compared by the reached speed-up.
