Abstract

Distributed Objects and Mobile Agents are gaining more and more popularity in parallel and distributed programming, especially when targeted towards heterogeneous distributed architectures. In this paper we present a comparison between the Distributed Objects and Mobile Agents distributed programming paradigms. The comparison has been performed based on the development of an irregular application for two different programming environments: JavaSymphony, which supports the distributed objects paradigm, and MAGDA which is based on the mobile agent paradigm.
