In this paper we demonstrate how a default theory, expressed through a set of conditional defaults that the agent possesses, can be traduced into extended logic programs. Additionally, the proposed translation allows to evaluate the degree of epistemic surprise of a proposition (or a conjunction of propositions) Φ on a meta-logical level.
