Jini is the architecture for ubiquitous and distributed computing. There is, however, no strategy for load distribution in the specification of Jini. This can cause performance degradation due to skewed loading of the system. This paper proposes a load distribution approach in Jini using JINT. JINT is a new service selection mechanism in Jini developed by the authors. It provides a transparent and powerful service selection mechanism. CORBA Event Service will be employed for reporting load information. The load information in each host is reported to the load analyzer through the event channel whenever the host load is passed up or down within the specified threshold. It reduces the network traffic that would result with periodical load reporting.
