Abstract

This paper suggests a psychological approach to the problem of context management in intelligent software. The user's motivational context is taken by the agent as its own motivational context. While traditional task-specific context problems still must be dealt with, the agent can use its semi-autonomous motivation to navigate these problems on the user's behalf. An implementation strategy is suggested.
