Abstract

The time-dependent and asynchronous nature of many real-time applications adds a potentially difficult problem to the testing activities, which needs to be solved. To address this need, we present a formal testing strategy for real-time software by using dual-language approach. This approach offers the advantage that by integrating the executability of operational formalism and the formal verifiability of descriptive formalism, it tackles the problem of testing concurrent and real-time software and extends the testing activities to the software requirement and design phrases.
