Abstract

A market of two-dimensional agents with geographical constraint is modeled with the soap froth analogy and numerical simulations have been performed using a cellular network generated by Voronoi tessellation. By tuning the noise parameter and the ratio of relative interaction between agents, different phases corresponding to the colonization by monopolies as well as fair market are observed. From the analysis of the distribution of minority agents surviving in the system, we find that some of the smaller cells can be occupied by the minority agents, while larger cells are being taken over by the surrounding majority agents.
