The support of Quality of Service (QoS) is an emerging problem in the Internet, as the new multimedia applications demand for QoS. Differentiated Service is foreseen as a solution to QoS provisioning in core networks due to its scalability characteristic. However, at the access IntServ is the solution most adequate, as it provides QoS to individual traffic flows. Should an end-to-end service model be defined, both service models must be considered and thus, interworking and service conversion aspects must be studied. This paper addresses the management aspects, not yet covered by the standards, that basically deals with the problem of end-to-end QoS support. It presents an architecture for a QoS Management Platform, which is able to deal with all the kind of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ranging from static to dynamic, access to end-toend. The proposed architecture is able to perform IntServ to Diffserv service conversion. The implementation on a LINUX environment and the results of the performance evaluation are also described.
