Abstract

This workshop aimed to understand more fully the relationship between different UML models. Each model in UML represents a particular viewpoint of the system under development. However, it is not clear from the UML specification how these models should be related. The relationships between UML models can be understood in terms of transformation - in which models are translated into other models (e.g., sequence diagrams transformed into statecharts) - or integration - in which models are somehow linked to contribute additional meaning (e.g., a statechart is attached to a class to describe the behavior of that class). Our target is to have an increased understanding of the possible transformation/integration approaches and how they can best be used in particular contexts.
