Abstract

The paper proposes a generalization of the notion of the fuzzy set, intended to make it useful in the modeling of mental mechanisms of intelligent autonomous agents. In order to better represent the intrinsic dynamics of mental processes, the traditional membership value from the range [0, 1] is replaced with a function mapping time onto the range [0, 1]. Psychological justification of the development of a Dynamic Fuzzy Set theory, a method of Dynamic Fuzzy Calculus (DFC), as well as a computational example are provided.
