The global graph model of image registration is a new visual framework for understanding the relationships and merits between the wide variety of existing image registration methods. It is a global, dynamically updateable model of the state-of-the-art in image registration, which is designed to assist researchers in the selection of the optimal technique for a specific problem under investigation. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional graph display techniques are used in this paper to visualise the new model. The Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) was found to provide a very suitable representation of such a 3-D graph model.
