Developing e-business solutions is a complicated task. It involves many different disciplines and requires knowledge of ebusiness technologies as well as business processes. In this paper we look into what causes this complexity, and discuss an approach to overcome the current barriers in e-business engineering. The approach combines knowledge of processes and technology with a new e-business engineering methodology, called Rapid Services Development (RSD). The ingredients of RSD are discussed in detail, and linked to current engineering approaches.
