In this paper we describe WiseFlow, a software platform currently being used to provide a variety of electronic services within the maritime industry. WiseFlow lies at the core of an international trading community formed by certification societies, consulting firms, shipyards, steel mills, manufacturers, insurance companies and government agencies. As such, this community revolves around well defined business processes shared among all participants: certification of materials for the shipping industry. WiseFlow supports the daily execution of these processes and implements different business models from several of the participants.
