A need for the detection of ambiguous prepositional groups (Pg's) is discussed in the paper. Criteria for automatic Pg-disambiguation are presented, with special accent on word order patterns and verbonominal collocations, the main source of non-projective constructions caused by non-congruent Pgmodifiers of nouns. Usefulness of the proposed criteria and their ordering within an analysis by reduction is introduced.
