The explosive spread of the Internet in recent years has made it possible to access a huge number of information sources. These sources include web home pages, relational databases, image databases and so on. To enable these information sources to be utilized to the fullest extent, it is necessary to integrate these into identical data structures and user interfaces. This paper proposes the information integration system called MediPresto/M, which was designed based on a mediation architecture and universal relation model. Using some real applications, we demonstrate the advantages of this system.
