Abstract

Cellular phone is one of the most popular personal information device. Cellular phones with Internet services such as i-mode are in wide use in Japan. The communication bandwidths are growing even further under 3G technology. However, the interfaces are still poor; displays of cellular phones will remain small in view of their portable size and power consumption. In this paper, we propose a "ubiquitous display" that can be used in combination with cellular phones. The user operates the cellular phone and the ubiquitous display shows any content that requires a large screen space.
