The purpose of this paper is to develop a modal logic of interaction based on roles that each agent can play within a scenario. A role is defined as a set of beliefs, goals and actions. The agent looks for the realization of his goals according to those goals of the scenario in which it participates playing a role. The same agent can play different roles in different scenarios. A common model of communicative and physical interactions is proposed for its formalization as a modal logic of interaction. It is argued that different interaction types, as collaboration, negotiation and competence can be considered as particular cases of this model. The proposed model is illustrated using the well-known example of multiagent exploration of a distant planet.
