Abstract

Dynamic adaptability of applications to their execution evironment is growingly important in mobile, WAN-based and distributed embedded systems. In this paper, we present Mol猫NE, an object-oriented middleware framework enabling the construction of dynamically adaptable mobile applications, coping with temporary memory restrictions, variations in network bandwith, etc. We then come back on Mol猫NE to compare it with other similar systems, in order to draw lessons towards reflective middleware and system designers.
