With the increase of interesting about stereoscopy, stereo coding techniques are raising issues. Because stereo image pair has many different features compared with monocular image sequences, stereo coding problem should be discussed separately from compression of monocular sequences. In this paper, we propose an improved technique to code a target image patch with specially designed block vector set. Multiresolutional basis vectors are designed to present a hierarchical architecture to adapt our system to a transmission condition or user's request easily. Some block vectors that are independent to reference image help to represent edges or occlusions effectively. We will show that our scheme provides enhancements in not only quality of decompressed image but processing time.
