Abstract

Non-functional requirements are often ignored or given little importance in the curriculum. This is unfortunate, because there are many interesting and important learning opportunities to be gained from a serious consideration of them. In addition, there is currently no separate document associated with these requirements. This paper introduces the Performance Case to remedy this situation.Performance Cases are closely modeled on Use Cases that are used for documenting functional requirements. Finally, several enrichment exercises using Performance Cases are given.
