Abstract

Macromedia Director is the premier animation tool for creating digital multimedia for distribution on CD's and on the Web. The strengths of Director are its Lingo object-oriented programming language, its capacity to incorporate a variety of multimedia resources, and its integration with Shockwave for distribution on the Web. This paper proposes that Macromedia Director has the potential to be used as a knowledge management system. The possibility of using an avatar as the building block of a knowledge management system architectures is explored.
