The discrete mathematics enhancement project was a project undertaken by two computer science faculty and one mathematics faculty member in the summer of 2001. The goals of the project were to increase student retention in the discrete mathematics course and to provide students with opportunities to explore the relationship between computer science and topics covered in the discrete mathematics course. The results of the project are a set of ten learning exercises and various programming and interactive resources. This paper describes the reasons for undertaking this project, the results of the project, and future directions for this project.
