Abstract

Budget limitations restrict a university's attempt to build and maintain a Beowulf distributed parallel processing cluster. This paper will outline how a state-funded regional university, Eastern Washington University, built and installed a distributed processing cluster. The goal of this paper is to outline some common mistakes or obvious roadblocks so others may take advantage of the power of distributed processing while maintain a minimal cost.
