Abstract

Physicists have long tried to apply their skills to fields outside of physics-with varying degrees of success. Econophysics is currently in fashion, based in part on the incorrect belief that economists don't make empirical observations of financial markets or don't use monte carlo simulations in which rational judgment is replaced with random decisions.
