Abstract

In visualization, animation is a technique for displaying a sequence of images in rapid succession that shows changes in a display. The most common data to animate involve time-varying information. In this case each frame shows the value statistic at one point in time. For animations to be perceptually effective, the information must vary smoothly from frame to frame.
