Data Surveyor is the collective name of a collection of data mining products. On the one hand, there are the tools that are geared toward the expert data miner, on the other hand there are tools that are for the business end user. The tools for the expert are such that the knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) process is supported as far as possible. The best example of this is the extensive support the user gets in the creation of the mining table. Moreover, the expert tool is set up in such a way as to stimulate interactive data mining. The tools for the end users are built with business applications in mind. That their solution uses data mining is immaterial to the business end user. Using the expert tool, the expert can implement data mining scenarios into the tools of the end user so that the end user will only have to focus on the problems he knows about: the business problems.
