Abstract

The fields of high energy and nuclear physics are faced with difficult challenges in terms of both the complexity and volume of data. This article contains a description of some of the tools that have been and will be used in physics data handling. It includes a description of the application of artificial neural network tools to the search for the top quark at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. In addition, this article describes a new data handling framework, which will support deep drill-down data mining in physics analysis.
