Abstract

This paper presents a component based software reliability model. The proposed model provides software system reliability estimates from the reliability of software components and the usage ratio of each component. Issues relating to the techniques for estimating the model parameters are discussed and the assumptions of the model are investigated. A component impact analysis method which could help in focusing testing efforts is also presented.
