Refinement is the process of deriving verifiably-correctsoftware from its specification. In practice, however, refinementsteps are complex and difficult to prove correct. Weshow how animation can be used to provide insights into thecorrectness, or otherwise, of refinement steps for the mostgeneral form of data refinement in which the whole systemdesign can be changed in a single step.
